Taco Bell Strangler- August  1993: Part Six

Several weeks after Audrey Spain’s murder and no real suspects, her case became cold.

On August 9, 1993,  Zachary Douglas was waiting for his date when flames engulfed the apartment of his girlfriend.  What he finds shocked him.

Firefighters found Miss Valencia M. Jumper,  a 21 year old college student majoring in Political Science.   She had two jobs,  one as a cashier for Food Lion and a fashion consultant at the Southpark Hechts before it became Macy’s in 2006.  She was a very ambitious young woman and a serious college student who was very  friendly and hardworking  as well as attractive.  According to the obituary I read online, she was a sorority girl a member of American Association of University Women.

She was murdered by her so called friend whom she knew for three years.  He said that she was like a sister to him.  Brothers don’t murder sisters.  He’s just a sadistic psychopath murderer who goes around manipulating women and girls.

He went to Valencia’s home to talk and check on her earlier in the day.   He returned to her residence that same night on August 9, 1993.  He claimed he got into a fight with his girlfriend, so he told her to call Sadie to make sure he’s alright.   As soon as she reached the phone, he brutally murdered her.    He went into the kitchen, opened up a can of beans to cook on the stove, which he had it on at high temperature.   I’m not going to say what happened,  for it was unspeakable and I’m sparing her family from such gruesome details.

Several days later,  similar to Ms. Shawna’s several months ago, he attended Ms Valencia’s funeral along with his sister.    What’s worse,  he sent flowers and condolences to her parents like nothing ever happened.   The audacity and the nerve of him!

The medical examiner made a very bad mistake.   A mistake that could have cost his career.   He wrote in the autopsy report that she died in the fire. He should have examined her thoroughly to know that she was strangled before someone intentionally set fire upon her lifeless body to destroy evidence. That was his error and should’ve apologized to Valencia’s family for his mistakes and rushed autopsy.
