Why are Black men the face of the MeToo movement?

Please tell me? Could it be nonblack men project their poor treatment of women unto Black men, therefore exorcising their guilt? Or the everlasting hypocrisy of prominent white men getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar, scapegoating Black male celebrities such as Bill Cosby, R. Kelly, etc.?
